Silent Retreat Info

Silent Retreat Benefits/Purpose

1.  Many people report improvement in their 5
     senses.
2.  Philosophy lessons much like a monastic would
     receive
3.  Dedicated time to calming the mind

Basic Rules

1.  Do not initiate contact with others
2.  Keep your showers down to 10 minutes
3.  Wash your dishes immediately after using
4.  Eat when you are hungry/Don't eat when you are not.  (breakfast and lunch times are approximate)
5.  Spend some time in the garden everyday, you
     may pick and eat whatever you find.

Silent Retreat Suggested Schedule
 
4:30a wake/shower/tea/pranayama
5:00a-6a meditation/light yoga/tai chi
6:00a-6:30a breakfast
7:30-8:30a Kung Fu/Yoga
9a-11:30a Morning meditation/prayers/study
11:30a-12:30p Lunch
1:00p-4:00p Healing/teaching/tea/supper
4:00p-6:00p Review and Study
6:00p-6:30 tea/light supper
6:30-7:30 evening prayers/meditation
7:30p-8:30p Shower/evening meditation/sleep
 
Donations

1. $60

4. You may make a donation so that others can benefit from this retreat with a check payable to:  "scholar warrior" Please indicate 'silent retreat' on the memo line

Monies are used to buy food and supplies for silent retreat

 
       
  What will be provided:

1.  Towels, Dishes, Cooking Utensils, Toothpaste, Soap, Shampoo
2.  Electricity Free Environment (Candles will be used after dark and early morning)  The Kitchen will have electricity for the fridge.  You will probably have to light the stove the old fashioned way.

 

   
  What to bring
1. Blanket/Pillow as needed (you will probably be
    sleeping on the floor)
2. Healthy Organic Snacks
3. Your Journal (it is the most important book you will
    ever read!)
